The Resistance is a generic term used to refer to the people opposed to President Clark's rule over EarthGov.
The motivation for members of the Resistance varied widely, from the anti-Earth sentiments of the Mars Resistance to anti-tax movements in the colonies to the specifically anti-Clark movements on Io, Babylon 5, and Proxima 3.
By 2261, the Resistance had succeeded in overthrowing Clark, though it still had significant internal differences, made manifest by the nominal independence of Mars.
