Emperor Turhan

From The Great Machine

Turhan was the Emperor of the Centauri Republic during the time preceding the Shadow War. Unlike most of his people, he refused to wear his hair like the rest of Centauri noblemen, thus looking more like a human.

It was Turhan's father who ordered the occupation of the Narn homeworld 100 years prior. After a life with little choices, it was Turhan's last wish to go to Babylon 5 to speak with G'Kar and apologize for all the wrongs his family had brought upon the Narn people.

While on Babylon 5, Turhan suffered a crippling heart attack, leaving both of his hearts in a state too weak to sustain his life. He entreated upon Dr. Franklin to speak to G'Kar, to apologize for what his people and his family did, as he did not trust his own entourage. He died in Medlab shortly after hearing how Lord Antono Refa and Londo Mollari had ordered a strike on Narn space, thus causing a new Narn-Centauri War. Turhan's last words, whispered into Mollari's ear, were: "You are both damned."

Behind the scenes

Emperor Turhan was portrayed by Turhan Bey, who had originally auditioned for the role of the Technomage Elric.
