David Sheridan is a former diplomat for the Earth Alliance. He and his wife, Miranda, are parents to Captain John Sheridan, and grandparents to David Sheridan.
Before Babylon 5 begins a massive battle, John calls his father to well him well, fearing a negative outcome. David reminds his son of the first lesson he taught him: "Never start a fight, always finish it." His son takes his father's lesson to heart a short time later as the EAS Roanoke and other Earthforce ships attack Babylon 5 first (Severed Dreams).
David Sheridan has a rare, unspecified blood disease, which requires that he take regular injections of the expensive Centauri drug, Tenasticin (The Exercise of Vital Powers).
David Sheridan was taken into custody by agents of President Morgan Clark, as a way of ferreting John Sheridan out of his place of safety aboard Babylon 5. When John surrendered to Earthforce after Clark's death, David was immediately released from prison, citing a grave misunderstanding. He immediately went to meet up with his son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Delenn.
