Music and Sound in the Game

We will be using original music by Mr. Franke (who has done all of the music for B5) and will also be using the same sound effects created for the show. Regarding the whole debate about whether there should be sound in space or not, I think must of us feel like we should follow the example set by the show as closely as possible, and always remember that the bottom line is that this is entertainment. Not reality, but heightened reality.

Are there bits of game exclusive music?

Yes! Not only bits, whole album sized segments for game use. A sample of some exclusive music can be downloaded from the links at the bottom of this page.

Will we see any music from the show?

Yes. When I saw it, one was the Geometry of Shadows (which is extremely excellent), and another.

Will music dynamically change?

Unlike Wing Commander games, where music transisitons are very abrupt, the music used in ITF is very smooth and seamless in transition. You'll never find where the music breaks even if you know its coming.

Here is a sound clip from March 1999. This is official game music exclusive to FirstOnes.com.

Visit the official B5: ITF Sonic Images site for other pieces of game music.
