DESIGNER / ART DIRECTOR
What does a designer / art director do on a project like Babylon 5?
As lead designer, my job to mainly help make the different aspects of the game design work together. I work with Dan Foy and Randy Littlejohn to create the complete game design. We all bring our fields of expertise the table. My job is to fuse all of these factors into a tight, polished concept, then to make sure that it is implemented by the team in the final game itself. As Art Director, I oversee the art team, and work to make sure that the game is as visually faithful to the show as is possible within the limits of available technology.
What are you currently busy with?
Everything. I write, I make art, I answer fan questions, put out fires, do interviews. It's never dull.
What is the hardest part of your job?
Keeping on top of the myriad details and issues that inevitably come up in the development process, and still find the time to do all of my regular work on the project.
What is the coolest part of your job?
Working with really talented people. I am amazed on a daily basis at the things my team brings to the project.
