SIERRA PRESS RELEASE
Sierra Studios Announces Official Name of Sci-Fi Simulator
Babylon 5: Into the Fire Cast List Unveiled

Bellevue, WA (Jun.8.99)
Sierra Studios today announced the official name of its upcoming space combat simulator, Babylon 5: Into the Fire, based on an episode taken from the groundbreaking science fiction television series of the same name. Sierra Studios also reveals the selected members of the original television cast featured in this highly anticipated PC game, along with the characters specially created for this title.

Members of the original Babylon 5 cast reunited to shoot segments for the game Babylon 5: Into the Fire. Conducted in two phases, the first session took place on the actual set from the television show. The second half was filmed using a blue screen technique, a method that allows virtual sets to be added in postproduction. As gameplay unfolds, regular viewers of Babylon 5 will recognize many of the original locations from the television series, including the ISN news desk, an Omega bridge, the squad bays, and Babylon 5's sanctuary.

The returning actors include Bruce Boxleitner (John J. Sheridan), Mira Furlan (Delenn), Jerry Doyle (Michael Garibaldi), Tracy Scoggins (Captain Elizabeth Lochley), Wayne Alexander (Lorien), Thomas MacGreevy (Centauri Minister of Defense), and Beata Pozniak (President Luchenko). Actors new to the series were cast in roles created specifically for the game.

"The event was a sort of homecoming for the cast and crew," said Wil Binder, producer of Into the Fire's live action sequences. "The freshly painted sets, the cameras and crew, and a large number of the primary and supporting cast created the atmosphere present during the full-fledged television production." Binder also added, "Many of the actors never thought they'd be back in this world of B5 again."

Scheduled for release Q1 2000, Babylon 5: Into the Fire recreates the authentic look and feel of the show by using actual digital models, effects, and music from the TV series. Working directly with B5 creator J. Michael Straczynski, the game's designers are expecting to please hard-core space combat gamers, Babylon 5 fans and those interested in real-time gaming strategy.
